Purpose
The Association exists to support professional contract pilots, promote consistent standards of conduct and airmanship, provide education specific to contract pilot operations, and maintain professional credentials and guidance resources.
Membership
CPA membership is available in multiple categories as defined in the Association bylaws. Membership provides professional affiliation and access to Association programs, educational resources, and credentials, subject to the privileges and limitations established by the bylaws.
Certified Contract Pilot (CCP) Credential
The Certified Contract Pilot (CCP) credential is a professional designation administered by CPA. The credential reflects knowledge of contract pilot operational practices, understanding of professional and ethical standards, and familiarity with risk management principles applicable to contract operations. The credential is supported by structured coursework and continuing education.
Education and Training
CPA develops and maintains educational programs addressing topics relevant to contract pilots, including contract pilot operational practices, risk management and decision-making, professional conduct and ethics, and industry operating environments and expectations.
Safety and Standards Committee
CPA maintains a Safety and Standards Committee focused on reviewing operational safety topics relevant to contract pilots, developing guidance and best practices, and supporting educational initiatives related to safety and professionalism.
Code of Ethics
CPA maintains a Code of Ethics applicable to all members. The Code establishes expectations for regulatory compliance, professional judgment and conduct, ethical decision-making, confidentiality, and discretion.
Organization
CPA operates under formal bylaws that govern membership structure, officer roles and authority, committee appointment and function, and ethical and conflict-of-interest standards
